Privacy Policy
SpiceHack is a lab notebook for reverse-engineering commercial spice blends from label ingredient order into estimated percentages, then refining them in a workbench and saving them locally. Estimates are guidance, not lab assays. SpiceHack is not affiliated with any spice brand.
Short version: your blends live on your phone. We don’t run a SpiceHack user account system, we don’t sell spice data, and we don’t sprinkle ad trackers on your paprika. The lab notebook stays in your pocket — next to the crumbs.
Data on your device
- Saved blends and workbench edits (on-device database)
- App language preference
- Camera photos and OCR text are processed on device and are not uploaded by SpiceHack
Data we send
- Open Food Facts lookups when you verify a barcode or product listing (public API)
- Optional reference/copycat web search queries via spicehack.org (proxied to a search provider; no account required)
- No advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics trackers
- No SpiceHack user account is required
Your choices
- Delete individual blends from your library
- Skip reference search and use browser links instead
- Revoke camera access in iOS Settings
- Uninstall the app to remove all on-device data
